**Full-time AI Imaging Scientist**

**Who we are?**
X23D AG is a young MedTech startup dedicated to improving the status-quo in surgical guidance by disrupting the computer
- and robot-assisted surgery. We achieve this by utilizing the modern breakthroughs in artificial intelligence. At the heart of our team, we have a growing research and development team currently working towards revolutionizing the computer-assisted surgery market, through the delivery of products that can seamlessly be integrated in the existing surgical workflow, which are “Accurate, whilst Simple”. Being a spin-off company from the Balgrist University Hospital and the University of Zurich, X23D is in a very unique position; whereby, our team maintains direct access to medical and scientific resources necessary to create products that address the “real-world” clinical needs.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Design, training, validation and maintenance of Artificial Intelligence models for medical (e.g. X,ray, CT scan or MRI) and natural natural (e.g., RGB-D) image processing tasks.
- Research and implementation of state-of-the-art AI-based computer vision and medical and natural image processing algorithms for object detection and localization, object and scene reconstruction, pose estimation and calibration.
- Participate in the design and implementation of related data-collection software algorithms and product validation pipelines (e.g., ex-vivo image data collection and testing).
- Participate in regular software design, development and testing reviews.
- Provide initiative and leadership in identifying new areas of research that can benefit our mission.
- Communicating with our medical and industrial partners to define product requirements.

**Qualifications**
- MSc or PhD (preferred) degree in computer science, informatics, robotics, engineering physics or related fields.
- Excellent programming skills in Python or C++.
- Experience in implementing computer vision and medical and natural image analysis software or projects (using e.g., OpenCV, Insight Toolkit, 3D Slicer, Open3D, etc.).
- Profound experience in working with common deep learning libraries (e.g., Pytorch, Tensorflow or Keras).
- Profound experience in designing and training custom-made deep learning architectures.
- Experience in study design and management of ex-vivo studies is a plus.
