The **Wildlife Division** investigates the cause of death in wild mammals, birds, amphibians and reptiles in the frame of a passive national wildlife health surveillance program, conducts applied and basic research projects, performs third-party funded research on topics of wildlife health, consults with administration, and communicates findings to scientific peers and the interested public.

Tasks

The task entails the supervising of postgraduate students during postmortem & histopathological examination and the maintenance and continued development of high-quality diagnostics of the entire spectrum of terres-trial endemic free-ranging animals in Switzerland. Depending on experience, interests and capacities, the position may additionally entail teaching of wildlife health and disease content within the veterinary curriculum, interaction with administration, customers and stakeholders and the contribution of pathological expertise to ongoing research projects. The position reports to and supports the head of wildlife.

- and diagnostic units in domestic and zoo animal pathology, bacteriology, parasitology, virology and immunology. Collaborations with clinical units in Bern or in Zurich are possible. The place of work is located 5 minutes by bus from Bern central railway station.
