We are a part of Outshift by Cisco focused on identifying breakthrough emerging solutions that create new markets and businesses for Cisco. We incubate these new opportunities in partnership with our business groups, corporate partners, and other startups. The team also continues to progress Cisco’s important work with Standards bodies and runs research partnerships with groundbreaking Universities.

The Outshift team is highly visible within Cisco as it's leading the future innovation for the business. As part of the Strategy, Incubations & Applications group led by Cisco’s Chief Strategy Officer, you’ll be working with some of the organization’s most forward thinkers.

**What You'll Do**

**Primary Responsibilities**:

- Adapt various Gen AI models for quality and performance for new products
- Analyze data to discover patterns, design, develop, evaluate, validate, and build scalable ML models for deep learning and Generative AI products
- Conduct research and development into innovative AI/ML models using powerful tools and techniques, develop new algorithms and systems for reasoning and generating text, image, video, and audio.
- Collaborate with product managers to understand business requirements and software engineering teams to build prototypes for testing and integrate successful models and algorithms in production systems at a very large scale.

**Who You Are**

**Minimum Requirements**
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, NLP, Machine Learning, or related quantitative field with 5+ years; OR Master's Degree with 3+ years; OR PhD with 0+ years of related experience
- Demonstrated ability with Python, Java, or related languages
- Practical experience with all phases of model development including design, development, evaluation, validation, and optimization of ML models for both supervised and unsupervised learning
- Understanding and prior experience in Large Language Models / Generative AI, Natural Language Processing, Computer vision, or other domain/modality
