**Job overview**:
**JOB PURPOSE**:
The **PE Cover Teacher **at Geneva English School fulfils a vital role in standing in when needed to deliver high quality PE lessons. The Cover Teacher ensures lessons are well delivered, safe and follow the planning and instructions given.

**RESPONSIBLE TO**:

- Director of Sport and PE

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Teach the lessons assigned to you, making effective use of resources, and securing the best possible standards of learning and achievement
- Maintain good order and discipline amongst pupils, in accordance with the School's behaviour policy, and have due regard for their welfare, health and safety
- Maintain a productive learning environment by employing good PE techniques and management skills
- Carry out administrative and supervisory duties efficiently and conscientiously.
- Act in accordance with the policies of the School and in particular with the principles laid down in the Staff Handbook, Staff Code of Conduct, ICT Acceptable Use Policy and Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy

**Person specification**:

- Live in the Geneva area (this includes neighbouring France and Vaud) within commuting distance of the school
- Experience of teaching in a school with teaching certification
- Have a keen interest in sport
- Knowledge and experience of the UK National Curriculum an asset
- Experience of teaching children from EYFS to KS5
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, French an asset
- Be available to take on last minute, part-time, covers with short notice
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues and to work as part of a collaborative team.
