**About the role**

We are looking for a curious, self-motivated and business savvy Casualty Underwriter to join our Treaty underwriting team for Globals EMEA business in Zurich.

You will be responsible for underwriting new and renewal treaty business for Global clients, with a focus on assessing complex, larger reinsurance deals, building client and broker relationships and developing transactions or solutions with and for our clients. Our focus is on Liability and Financial Lines, but we are open for Motor and PA business as well.

You will join a hard-working team of Casualty underwriters and, together with our Client Management, Transactions and Solutions team, contribute to the overall strategy, plan and initiatives. Key responsibilities:
- Assess complex treaties from both a quantitative and a qualitative perspective- Take underwriting decisions- Develop actuarial costings based on data available and combining this with external and internal factors and trends- Proactively source new reinsurance opportunities and optimise existing programs- Understand clients' needs, motivations and priorities as well as risk and capital drivers and align with Swiss Re's strengths in order to develop win-win solutions, leveraging the full range of Swiss Re capabilities- Contribute to the development and implementation of holistic client strategies and action plans- Build and maintain client and broker relationships through proactive engagement- Contribute to Swiss Re Casualty positioning- Stay ahead: anticipate and analyse future industry/economic/legal trends and contribute to (re)insurance product development

**About you**- University degree or equivalent in actuarial, science, finance, economics, law or similar- Minimum 7-10 years of experience in underwriting, sales or any other relevant function in the (Re)Insurance industry; including experience in Casualty lines- Sound financial knowledge, critical thinking and results orientation- Ideally, primary insurance market experience, particularly in product or tariff development- Strong quantitative and analytical skills- Ability to design and sell innovative differentiating solutions- Self-motivation and curiosity, with an eagerness to continuously learn, seek challenges and explore new opportunities- Team-player- Fluent in English
