**Project Title**

Validation of a bioburden method of biologics production

**Introduction**

Biologics such as monoclonal antibodies are widely used to treat various diseases, in particular in the field of oncology. Recombinant antibodies are produced by fermentation techniques in GMP process plants. The manufacturing process is accompanied by quality control activities to ensure that the drugs are produced under appropriate conditions to control microbial contamination. Standard methods for the detection of microbial contaminants take several days for incubation. The development of new time saving methods, so-called Rapid Microbiological Methods, is on the rise and can efficiently support the production of biologics.

**Description**

Aim of this project is to validate a rapid bioburden method.

**Your Responsibilities**

Learn, Experiment and Adapt.

Drive the method validation project with support by your supervisor.

Understand the method, write the protocol, execute the study.

Summarize your results in a report.

**Your Competencies**:

- Life Science Bachelor student (such as in the fields of Microbiology, Biotechnology, or GMP Biologics production)
- Well-organised, structured and independent way of working
- Commitment, motivation and creativity
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Outlook)
- Strong writing and verbal skills in German and English
- Practical laboratory work experience is a strong plus.
