We would like to talk to you about the opportunity to join our Cartier Philanthropy Team as Head pf Programmes.

Cartier Philanthropy is the Maison Cartier’s grant-making foundation. Its creation in Geneva in 2012 was a pivotal moment in Cartier’s philanthropic journey and marked the adoption of a grant-making approach that is data-driven and outcome-oriented for enduring social impact.

Driven by the vision of building a world where everybody can realize their potential, the foundation is committed to improving the lives of the most vulnerable in some of the world’s poorest regions.

We provide grants to non-profit organizations that share our values of respect, trust, integrity and compassion, measure their social impact through rigorous data collection and are ambitious to replicate and eventually scale their solution to benefit as many people as possible.

We operate across four focus areas: access to basic services, women empowerment, sustainable livelihoods and humanitarian emergency response.

We also provide our grantees with additional support beyond our grants to build their capacity and create long-term social impact. This support includes consulting services on specific topics, such as data science, behavior change strategies, and branding and communication.

**HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT?**

**Strategic Support**

Support the Strategic Advisor to the Board with the conceptualization and deployment of Cartier Philanthropy’s investment strategy.
- Assess the impact and effectiveness of the Foundation’s grant-making strategy to inform future strategy and decision-making.
- Analyze social science research and philanthropic trends to drive grant-making decisions to increase the impact of philanthropic investment.
- Contribute to position CP’s high-standard approach as leader in the philanthropic and luxury sectors

**Portfolio Management**

Drive the achievements of the Foundation’s programmatic mission and goals
- Identify organizations that are best equipped to address poverty issues and demonstrate positive and lasting change.
- Assess the relevance and the potential impact of partners’ proposed strategy and course of action to support the most effective solutions in our areas of focus.
- Supervise the relationships with all partner organizations, in close collaboration with the Programme team (2 staff managing 20-25 grantees each), and also directly manage a portfolio of grantees.
- Manage and mentor Programme team to build capacity and expertise and foster personal development
- Manage and build relationships towards trust, accountability, and drive for results to ensure optimum performance of grantees
- Oversee all activities relating to impact measurement, capacity building, best practices sharing as well as evaluation and learning.
- Review and supervise rigorous due diligence process for existing and potential partners, including operational expertise, impact data, scaling potential, governance, financial situation, reputation, and risk assessment and management to guide decision-making.
- Supervise and manage the capacity-building support provided to CP grantees.
- Undertake 2-3 exploratory and monitoring field visits per year.
- Collaborate with Cartier Philanthropy’s teams to provide all required support on philanthropic topics.

**Credibility and Visibility**
- Represent Cartier Philanthropy, internally or externally_
- Build a solid network of peer foundations, academics, scientists, non-profits, bilateral donors to allow for information exchange, a culture of learning, a contribution to constructive dialogue on philanthropic priorities and sustainable interventions
- Seek opportunities to maximise the Foundation’s philanthropic investments by collaborating with other donors, or by encouraging synergies between operational partners on the ground.
- Share knowledge, experience, and best practice with grantees, peers, and relevant stakeholders.

**HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US?**
- You are an experienced and values-driven professional with a proven track record of managing partnerships with ngos, social enterprises, hybrid structures or you have experience in running a social enterprise
- You possess at least 12-15 years of relevant experience in philanthropic foundations or non-profits
