Junior Freight Controller

**The role**

Collaboration is key in this role. You will team up with the Freight Controller to ensure that all Freight accounting and reporting is complete, accurate, timely, and relevant. As a team you support and share valuable insights with colleagues from partnering departments, such as Freight Operations, Freight Controlling, Trade Controlling, Freight Middle Office and Internal Audit, to maintain a strong control environment and make sure that freight processes and systems are effective, efficient and carried by the organization. This is a great role to make an impact in shipping of essential food, feed and fuel to the world. Below more examples of responsibilities:
CONTROLLING AND REPORTING
- Handle quarterly reporting and several month-end reports and follow ups (SFAS and SEC, EBIT recap, IMOS detailed vessel PNL and open provision list, freight PNL breakdown account receivables)
- Monthly profit and loss and balance sheet analysis and Bi-monthly estimate vs actual analysis for management
- Ensuring the bill of lading and freight invoicing follow-up
- Once voyage completed, ensure final freight statement and final hire statements outstanding balances are displayed correctly in SAP
- New Lease monitoring as well as new lease input follow-up. Includes new financial structures to follow-up with US GAAP team

ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLES
- Follow-up on bad debt monthly file. Prepare the monthly bad debt meeting with the operations team
- Produce monthly aging receivables and vendor month-end report
- Assist Bunge Business Services (BBS, our shared services team) on correct funds allocation
- Assist on payments

WHAT ELSE:

- a Swiss “Brevet fédéral de spécialiste en finance et comptabilité”, HEG or Accounting degree
- a few years of experience as an auditor of accountant related to freight and who is a familiar and passionate with the industry.
- Proficiency in English is required, French language skills are beneficial
- Other beneficial skills to bring, but not required: SAP experience, knowledge of IMOS system, Knowledge of US GAAP, leases standards, Work experience in a trading or shipping company, SOX Internal controls knowledge
