**ABOUT THE POSITION**
Reporting to the Head of Legal of the Company, you will be responsible for the creation, review and maintenance of reinsurance contract documentation and provide high quality legal and wording support to our Underwriting team.
**Your tasks will include**:
- Review and analyse the terms of reinsurance agreements and other ancillary documents, verify agreed-upon terms, ensure that mandatory clauses are incorporated, revise or amend contracts and correspond with internal stakeholders, brokers and others as needed.
- Draft contracts and ancillary agreements including confidentiality agreements, terms of business agreements (TOBA), commutation agreements and other legal documentation.
- Advise on related areas of legal, regulatory and business issues with respect to the Company’s international reinsurance business, including advice and training with respect to(re)insurance laws and regulations that may impact the review of reinsurance contract s
- Develop and automate processes to streamline contracts workflow, with a goal to reduce time to revenue while driving consistency. Promote and maintain a library of standard wordings.
- Monitor industry developments through news, webinars, committees and conferences.
- Develop and implement creative solutions to enable business colleagues to be more self-sufficient through the contracts process, including forms, playbooks, and training materials. Provide training and ongoing support on contractual matters.
- Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
- University degree, preferably in law, or other relevant qualification.
- 5+ years of reinsurance contract drafting experience, with a good business background in US and/or continental Europe markets. Good understanding of Property & Casualty products or other lines of business.
- Knowledge of US contract law, contract provisions, reinsurance concepts and principles as well as basic regulatory controls.
- Interest in digitalisation and contract automation, first experiences in this field a plus.
- Business acumen with the ability to effectively drive the business forward with a thoughtful, proactive, and practical approach.
- Demonstrated capability to work efficiently, learn quickly, prioritize and meet demanding deadlines in a fast-paced environment while remaining analytical and detail-oriented. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, able to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues globally. Excellent team player, who is willing to challenge constructively and share knowledge and experience.
- Fluency in English, additional languages such as Spanish or French would be a plus.
