**DEVELOPMENT & COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR (32 HOURS/WEEK; NON-EXEMPT)***:***:
The Development & Communications Coordinator is responsible for all multi-channel communications for the organization including website and social media and supports HSCC’s annual development efforts and media presence as it relates to fundraising, event management, donor procurement and the internal and external promotion of our mission.

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS**:

- Coordinate internal and external communications for the organization
- Collaborate with staff around department communication needs
- Oversee content for HSCC website (verbiage and photography) ensuring guidelines are adhered to, including the appropriate tagging and sharing of corporate and other external partners
- Create and publish relevant posts on all social media platforms
- Design mass media announcements, press releases etc.
- Assist with P2P (peer-to-peer) fundraising platforms for events and other campaigns
- Assist Director of Development with event preparation
- Data entry in Bloomerang as needed
- Help create and organize content for our annual appeals, newsletter, and annual report
- Preparing gift acknowledgements for mailing
- Assist with procurement of event sponsors
- Other responsibilities as directed

**KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES**:

- Experience representing a brand/company on various social media platforms
- Understanding and interest in social media management with creative ability
- Interest in financial development for mission-driven organizations
- Excellent project management, attention to detail and organizational skills
- Advanced computer literacy and excellent written communication skills
- Ability to positively and respectfully interact with colleagues and community members
- Reliable, self-motivated, personable, and hardworking
- Compassion for animals and human beings, and commitment to the mission, values, and goals of HSCC

**REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE**:

- Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) or equivalent experience
- Experience in social media platforms and ability to navigate back ends of websites
- Previous employment in team setting
