**Your mission**:
The aim of the EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), a Swiss brain research initiative founded and directed by Professor Henry Markram, is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world’s first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain.
- The Membrane Systems group in the Blue Brain Project is looking for a data scientist to work with large volumes of experimental data mainly from electrophysiology experiments. The**Job location**: LNMC, AI 2119, Station 19, CH-1015 Lausanne, Switzerland

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:

- Redesign and upgrade existing data storage and analysis framework
implemented in Matlab
- Convert all experimental data to standardized data formats
- Automated data upload to Channelpedia website and online visualization
- Support neuroinformatic group to store and annotate experimental data

**Your profile**:

- BS, MS, or PhD in computer science, computational biology, applied mathematics
- Experience with Linux, shell scripting and modern code version control
- Experience delivering and maintaining robust, data-intensive software
- Programming languages: C/C++, Python, Matlab, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, HTML/CSS
- Experience with database management systems (MySQL, NoSQL)
