Corporate Sustainability Manager

**Job Purpose**
Sustainability is embedded in the way we do business. It is a strategic priority, driving value creation for Straumann Group and our communities. Under the lead of the group’s CFO, the corporate sustainability and investor relations team establishes and drives the implementation of our sustainability strategy aligned to the Straumann Group’s strategy and enables a strong sustainable mindset throughout the group. Reporting to the Straumann Group’s global head of sustainability and investor relations, you will establish, oversee, and coordinate the activities related to our sustainability framework. As sustainability manager, you will have a comprehensive understanding of the evolving sustainability landscape, what this means for our global business strategy, materialize it in concrete action plans, and track progress towards the defined objectives. You will work closely with various departments and entities within the company to enable a strong sustainably culture and integrate sustainability across the organization.
**Main Tasks and Responsibilities**
- Integrated Strategy - Support the department to develop and update the global sustainability strategy and implementation plans, aligned with our business objectives.
- Support cross-functional teams - Support and work collaboratively with the different business units, functional teams, and country organizations to integrate sustainability into all areas of the business. Encourage, support, and participate in sustainability initiatives with the leaders of the working groups. Provide guidance to cross-functional teams on sustainability issues.
- Concrete action plans and metrics: - Coordinate with the respective functional teams to translate the objectives into concrete action plans. Set up and maintain a consolidated roadmap. Ensure suitable metrics and key performance indicators are in place to measure and drive performance and impact (in close collaboration with the functional teams). Track performance, overseeing a matrix structure of business experts to implement action plans. Develop and maintain quarterly scorecards.
- Sustainability Policies - Ensure the development and implementation of sustainability policies, procedures, and guidelines that support the organization's sustainability goals.
- Transformation & Change Management - Facilitate change management in the organization by developing internal sustainability communications, trainings, resources, and engagement strategies.
- Market trends - Monitor and stay up to date with emerging sustainability trends, regulations, and best practices, and integrate them into the organization's sustainability programs and initiatives.
- Internal reporting and communication flow - Elaborate and carry out presentations regarding the planning and results of the area. Update platforms for disseminating and sharing information within the group. Coordinate and prepare materials for internal stakeholders.
- Support ESG data gathering - Support the financial and non-financial reporting team on the implementation of an effective, cross-functional data-driven governance process.
- Contribute to external sustainability reporting and communications in line with best-practice frameworks and regulatory requirements (in close collaboration with the corporate reporting and corporate communications)
- ESG risk management: Support the risk management team to identify and prioritize sustainability risks and to develop and execute plans to mitigate risks and capitalize on opportunities.
**Profile**
Education and experience
- Business education (business administration, strategic marketing or similar).
- Further education in sustainability and project management is a plus.
- At least 5 years of experience in management, with a track record of delivering successful programs and initiatives in a multi-cultural environment and within a matrix structure.
- Proficiency in English is a must; any further languages are an asset.
- Desired familiarity with sustainability frameworks, trends, best-practices, risks, impacts.
