About the team you are joining
The Macro Economist will report to the Chief Economist and provide economic research and support primarily to the Macro work stream, while assisting and supporting the other work streams in the Team, namely Industrial Analysis, Data Development, and Economics Delivery.
What your day would be like
Provide economic research chiefly to macro-economic developments globally, regionally, and at country level as they pertain to the air transport sector.
The Macro Economist will assist in coordinating work in this work stream across geographies with the persons contributing directly from those areas.
Part of the research will be conducted independently, with responsibilities for specific outputs and publications. Some work will be conducted across team functions, notably more consequential analyses.
Outputs will take the form of reports and publications, managing stake holders, participate in and speak at internal and external meetings and conferences as appropriate.
Inputs involve the compilation and validation of data, in collaboration with our Data Development work stream as appropriate.
The Economist will monitor macro-economic developments and initiate research with a view to enhance notably our regional and country-level coverage. The Economist will maintain and produce useful indicators, indices, and rankings, that can serve in policy settings as well as in expanding our monitoring and expertise. The Economist will identify gaps in our regular output and strive to address them.

Economics degree, post-graduate an advantage;
Research and analytical skills;
Ability to handle and manipulate large data sets;
Econometrics and statistical analysis skills;
Effective time management and ability to meet tight deadlines;
Strong written and verbal communication skills, fluent English, other languages an advantage;
Team player.
