**Research technician (Biochemie Laborantin)**
**60 - 100% **:The Caflisch group at the Biochemistry department of the University of Zurich is looking for a Laboratory Assistant / Research technician in the field of biochemistry and drug discovery. The research group is a multidisciplinary environment: about half of the group members work on computational projects while the remaining half work in the experimental laboratory (protein production, biochemical and biophysical assays to measure binding, cell biology, protein crystallography, cryogenic-electron microscopy, and medicinal chemistry). The background of the group members ranges from Master in Physics and Chemistry to Biochemistry and Cellular Biology.

**Your profile**: Bachelor or Master degree in Biochemistry or Biotechnology.
- Good background and independency in basic biochemistry techniques (e.g. PCR mutagenesis, cloning, protein expression in E. coli and purification).
- Experience with fluorescence and luminescence based assays, especially involving the use and manipulation of RNA substrates and small molecules.
- Theoretical and/or practical experience in structural biology is a plus.
- Good knowledge of at least one graphing and data analysis software (e.g. Prism, Origin). Experience with SBGrid consortium softwares is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of English and good communication skills.
