HELVETAS is an organization specialised in development cooperation and humanitarian response, anchored in Switzerland. Our vision is a just world in which all people determine the course of their lives in dignity and security, using environmental resources in a sustainable manner.

Voice, Inclusion, Cohesion (VIC) is one of the three thematic working areas of HELVETAS. The VIC team provides advisory services to HELVETAS programmes and to external clients. It consists of 8 highly motivated and qualified team members who focus on the thematic working fields of: Governance & Civic Space, Conflict Transformation, Migration, as well as Gender and Social Equity, and Policy Advocacy.

Through the working field ‘Migration’ HELVETAS contributes to the social and economic rights & protection of migrants and their families. We aim to minimize the risks and costs of migration and maximize its positive impact on inclusive development and cohesive societies. The working field pays particular attention to the rights of women and young migrants.

Our migration advisors are responsible for providing thematic advisory services to HELVETAS programmes and external clients, including partners, peer organizations, donors, and system actors in the contexts we work. We seek to develop state-of-the-art approaches and inclusive services. We recognize that migration is a complex and multifaceted reality, so we strive to continuously design and learn from migration projects addressing labour migration, urban migration, and increasingly youth & child migration, climate induced migration, forced displacement, from pre-departure to (re)integration, enhancing financial inclusion & remittance management, considering the migrants and their families.
