Responsible and accountable for Continuous Improvement and efficiencies across Switz Manufacturing Operation’s (SMO) systems and processes towards Operational Excellence (OPEX) as defined per our Medtronic Performance System (MPS).

This position will develop and deploy strategies that harness continuous improvement to reduce variability, reduce lead-time, improve Quality, increase efficiency, and improve customer value to better fulfill our mission and improve site key financial and performance metrics.

- As the Continuous Improvement Champion, directly develop, conduct, and promote the mission of developing a culture of continuous improvement by “Engaging Everyone, every day in accelerated continuous improvement”

- Working with site Leadership Team, develop site OPEX vision & multiyear roadmap, set the pace and implement business transformational programs with sensitivity towards the organizational structure, culture, people, processes, and site performance

- Set governance to drive site OPEX roadmap execution with key stakeholders, on competence & performance programs

- Deliver OPEX programs & projects that contribute to the organizational objectives, business imperatives and site performance

- Lead site-wide programmatic savings program (cost reduction) and establish governance and standard work to deliver on savings targets

- Lead OPEX team and develop talents to master MPS pillars and programs

- Serve as a trainer, expert and coach on Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement tools when needed. Support Lean Sigma Black & Green Belts across the site

- Connect with the Global OPEX Team to ensure local initiatives are aligned with the Global Operations and Supply Chain priorities

A Day in the Life

Representative and Owner of Medtronic Performance System (MPS) to lead its deployment and execution.

**Strategy Excellence
Establish and maintain Site Leadership policy deployment (Metrics and programs), Tier Management System, and related operating mechanisms. Ensure communication to embark all employees in the site strategy deployment.

**Safety Excellence
Contribute and participate to a safe work environment. Understand and enforce all Environmental, Health and Safety policies, procedures and regulations and support the EHS department in building a strong Safety culture for the site.

**Value Stream Excellence
- Establishing VSM for main product families to identify waste / improvements opportunities

- Define Value Stream future state to enable strategy and meet site targets

- Identifying and completing KAIZEN events to improve manufacturing lines performance (Safety, Quality, Delivery, Productivity). Follow and prioritize project execution to meet target conditions

**Improvement Excellence
- Create a positive momentum around Lean Six Sigma approach

- Accountable to promote continuous improvement culture, by defining and implementing a continuous improvement process on the manufacturing lines and through support functions department

- Foster enthusiasm and trust to generate idea, energy, and team spirit

- Implement/Maintain lean manufacturing systems and processes that will help everyone every day improve their work (DMAIC Problem Solving, Standardized work, 5S, TPM, Line Efficiency, OEE, etc )

**Deliver Site OPEX Competence Programs
- Develop the organizational capabilities in lean manufacturing and operational excellence culture, systems & tools by training and coaching the various players and team members

- Train SMO staff on Medtronic Performance programs

- Deploy a training strategy (Problem solving, Greenbelt, Black-Belt) to support the development of team members in the different departments

o Establishing a mapping of current lean manufacturing skills / certification status (Problem solving, Green Belt, Black Belt)

o Ensuring training sessions coordination and tracking certifications as per defined roadmap

- Coach and develop Black belts and Green Belts to lead business transformational improvement projects that transform the management systems, remove waste, take out complexity, simplify our operations, and increase employee engagement and inclusion

**Programmatic savings
- Owner of the programmatic saving program to deliver on Labor, Burden and manufacturing variances financial targets defined in the annual budget

- Act as catalyst to feed programmatic savings ideation for the next 5 years and get a hopper list of opportunities

**PMO
- Responsible of the Project Management Office process for introducing and maintaining consistent approach to manage projects based on common methodology, tools and training such as:
- Establish project governance structure

- Develop process & templates to follow project management from Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring to Closing

- Prioritize projects in alignment with SMO strategy

- Be the interface between global PMO, SMO Project Manager and Finance during AOP and 10Q forecast period
