The Strategy and Operations Director is a key business partner for the BMS CHAT Commercial Organization. Under the direction of the General Manager and in close partnership with the Department Heads of the CHAT Leadership Team, this individual will operate with an enterprise mindset to enhance strategic decision-making and to optimize performance.
Part of the CHAT Leadership team, this individual will play a central role in shaping, refining and executing the affiliate company strategy, aligning resources, utilizing the skills and advice of the peers in the management team in a complex, competitive and highly attractive market environment.

As a highly engaged team player with strong networking and interpersonal skills, strong entrepreneurial and strategic skills, sound commercial acumen and a collaborative leadership style, the Strategy and Operations Director will ensure together with the CHAT LT, growth and successful commercial launches.
**Key Responsibilities and Major Duties (includes, but are not limited to)**:
- To lead the development of annual strategic business planning process and commercial business operations including delivery of the cluster (CHAT) level strategic business plan
- To identify and drive initiatives across multiple key matrix partners to address emerging business trends, drive innovation and opportunities for improvement across the business
- To support the General Manager and partnering with key functions to drive business decision making, performance management of KPI's and resource allocation
- To be an active member of the CHAT Leadership Team and contributing to the organizational decision-making process, executing agreed output as appropriate and building and maintaining the organizational culture.
- To enhance the value and effectiveness of our customer-facing teams in close partnership with the global team, through developing and executing systems, tools and processes to drive Industry benchmark standards (Customer relationship management system, business performance management/reporting, incentives, sales business planning process, marketing brand planning process, sales force training, customer meetings logistics, digital marketing and market research
- To establish a network across EU Cluster, Major Markets and the global matrix including BI&A and WWC (Learning and Development, Field Force Capabilities, Congress, HCP & Meetings Management) and work across this network to ensure connectivity across key stakeholders, a voice for the CHAT market and effective integration of global and regional initiatives
- To lead, motivate and develop a team in both Switzerland and Austria (direct and indirect reports) and ensure they deliver against clearly defined aligned objectives, on time and within allocated budgets
- To ensure the Strategy and Operations budget and allocate resources according to strategic priorities
- To ensure business objectives are achieved with high level of integrity and compliance and are fully compliant with relevant laws, regulations and BMS Standards of Business Conduct and Ethics.
**Experience Requirements**:
- Senior level Pharmaceutical sales and marketing experience 7-10+ years
- Demonstrated effective working cross-functionally at senior management level ‡ Proven ability to facilitate business decision-making at Operating Committee level
- Proven capability to manage a large group across different skill sets, experience levels and functions
- Business Orientation and comprehensive understanding of key business drivers in the health care system & pharma industry
- Understanding of the sales, marketing and business processes
- High Level Problem solving and analytical skills
- Functional knowledge of Pricing & Reimbursement, Regulatory Affairs and Medical Affairs
- Very strong written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Ability to build alignment and drive performance across matrix teams through personal influence.
- Ability to work independently in a fast moving and increasingly complex environment with limited direction is required.
