Meggitt Fribourg’s site provides its expertise to the four strategic business units of Meggitt PLC. Meggitt Fribourg is employing 450 employees. We develops, manufactures and sells world-wide a complete range of transducers and electronic systems for the monitoring of engines, turbines and other rotating machinery in both the aerospace and energy industries.
**The position**:
To further strengthen our “Site Procurement” department, we are currently looking for a “Buyer”.
In this role, you will support the achievement of the Meggitt Operations Q-C-D objectives, by managing the suppliers’ performance on the scope of a portfolio of suppliers. You will be responsible for negotiating contracts, terms and conditions, performing regular supplier account reviews, and managing supplier development and performance improvement initiatives, ensuring appropriate Meggitt purchasing policies and procedures are applied at all times.
The main responsibilities for this role are:
- Negotiate and put in place contracts, terms & conditions with suppliers
- Implement Group Procurement best practices on his/her scope of responsibility
- Manage relationship with suppliers, follows-up monthly supplier scorecards, performs regular account reviews
- Drive annual cost down and minimize supplier cost increases; be accountable for commodity purchase cost Variance (PCV) performance.
- Operate effectively in a complex matrix organization, ensuring alignment with site Operations, Regional Commodity Managers, Procurement Division
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure we are identifying opportunities to drive down cost, eliminate the risk of adverse PCV and drive optimum supply chain performance. Support resolution of cost, quality and delivery issues.
- Ensure compliance with government laws and regulations and company policies and processes and support the Procurement Manager in their review
- Review performance data related to purchasing effectiveness into Site Operations and takes a proactive role in driving corrective actions where necessary. Provide the necessary support to ensure the continuity of supply and competitiveness of the Site Operations, including inventory optimization
**Your profile**:
- Master Degree in purchasing or equivalent with at least 5 years of experience in a similar role (strategic or tactical)
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all internal and external stakeholders and ability to influence
- Demonstrated experience of negotiation with suppliers
- Analytical skills to assess key business metrics and situations and solution-oriented mindset
- Experience with regulatory requirements and complex Company procurement procedures
- Strong prioritization skills and ability to multitask
- Team spirit and flexibility to adapt to a changing business environment in a matrix organization
- Fluent in both English and French (written and verbal)
- Proficient with MS Office and SAP
