The U.S. Embassy Bern is seeking eligible and qualified applicants for the position of:
**RESIDENCE MANAGER - Full Time**
The incumbent has responsibility for managing the Chief of Mission Residence (CMR), consulting regularly with the Ambassador concerning its operation.
- Oversee and coordinate the duties of the CMR household staff, which includes the Chef and two Housekeepers
- Coordinate with various U.S. Embassy staff to ensure streamlined planning
- Ensure proper fiscal procedures are followed to maintain accountability
- Organize Representation functions at the CMR
- Oversee the day-to-day CMR functions and activities
Education: College education with vocational training in office/hotel administration
Work Experience: 3 to 5 years in a similar position in a hotel or similar institution
Language: Good working knowledge of English, German, and French
**Abilities and Skills**:
The incumbent needs to be able to lead and direct with the capacity to manage an establishment that serves as both a home and a place for official entertainment. A professional and approachable demeanor is necessary while conducting work duties with tolerance, patience, diplomacy, and confidentiality. Familiarity with Swiss and U.S. protocol. Accounting and bookkeeping skills to handle financial responsibilities.
