PostDoc position on «Social-ecological networks for urban blue-green infrastructure» (80%)

The appointment is part of the project “GreenCityNet-Social-ecological networks to enhance biodiversity in urban green spaces“ funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation SNF. The aim of the interdisciplinary project is to quantitatively survey and analyze socio-ecological networks in five large Swiss cities. The project deals with questions of which biodiversity-supporting structures exist or could exist in urban spaces, which ecosystem services are preferred by which stakeholders, and how the development of urban green infrastructure and associated ecosystem services is managed and promoted in stakeholder networks. These findings should contribute to the sustainable development of urban areas. The project is based at Eawag in Dübendorf and will be conducted in collaboration with biologists from the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL.

**Your profile**
- Applicants should have in-depth knowledge of different approaches and methods used in the literatures on policy and governance analysis, networks, and natural resource management. They should have a particular interest in local decision-making processes and environmental and infrastructure policies. They must hold a PhD in political science, public policy or a related environmental social science discipline. Previous experience in social network analysis, survey design and data collection from interviews is an asset. Good knowledge of German and English is required, knowledge of another national language is an advantage.

As part of the PostDoc project, you will collect relevant data based on document and survey analysis, examine it using quantitative network analysis, and write scientific publications. The PostDoc will work in the research group "Policy Analysis and Environmental Governance" that is part of the Research Department Environmental Social Sciences at Eawag and affiliated to the Institute of Political Science at the University of Bern. The position is fixed to a period of three years and preferably starts in February 2023.
