The Drugs for Neglected Diseases _initiative _(DND_i_) is a collaborative, patients’ needs-driven, non-profit drug research and development (R&D) organization that is developing new treatments for neglected diseases (dndi.org).

The Communications team, within the External Relations Department, ensures wide, timely, and strategic dissemination of information on DND_i_ and research in the field of neglected diseases. Target audiences include national and international political leaders; the scientific community; the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries; donor countries and organizations; civil society organizations; and the media.

This part-time consultancy, working 50-60% time, will report to the Project, Event & Engagement Manager and work in collaboration with the DND_i_ Communications team, as well as colleagues from External Affairs, the Executive Office, IT, and other relevant departments in DND_i_, as needed, to support the organization and delivery of a webinar series of 4-6 webinars and one hybrid event to mark DND_i_’s 20th anniversary in 2023.

**Specific job responsibilities**:
This Project Associate consultancy will support the Project, Event & Engagement Manager in the organization and delivery of the webinar series and hybrid event, including by:

- Booking and supporting planning meetings and “dry runs” prior to events
- Creating, updating, and/or monitoring event tracking/project management documents, including event registration reports
- Managing collection of moderator/speaker information forms (bios, photos, etc.)
- Supporting webinar/event promotion plan in collaboration with the communications team as needed
- Supporting development of other event-related materials, such as run-of-show documents
- Collecting speaker presentations and supporting finalization of master slide set prior to event
- Preparing event materials, such as name badges, etc. as needed
- Providing on-site/online support during webinars/events (e.g., supporting run of show, liaising with IT, or helping troubleshoot)
- Preparing and analysing the event satisfaction survey
- Assisting with the post-event wrap-up, including letters of thanks, short event report, and posting of event recordings
- Providing other related assistance where needed

**Skills and attributes**:

- Exceptionally well organized and highly detail-oriented
- Ability to use initiative, prioritize, multitask, and work well under pressure to meet tight deadlines
- Clear and systematic thinking that demonstrates good judgment and problem-solving competencies
- “Customer-focused” when dealing with DND_i_ staff and with speakers and other external stakeholders
- Very good communication skills in multicultural, multilingual environments
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multicultural team
- Very good analytical skills
- Fluency in spoken and written English
- Fluency in French, Portuguese, Spanish, Swahili or other languages an asset
- Good knowledge of Microsoft suite required
- Previous experience with software such as Zoom, Adobe Creative Suite, Mailchimp and Teams desired

**Experience and education**:

- University degree or equivalent relevant experience
- Experience in event management
- Interest in global health and equitable access to health care and treatment

**Other information**:

- Consultant : fixed term contract until December 2023, part-time 50%-60%
