CTO / Co-founder

Full time (80-100%) on-going (permanent)

**Your Role**

In this role as CTO and Cofounder, you will be responsible for the numerous technical and commercial activities needed to build the Global Coral Reef Observatory. This includes managing teams, pitching for projects, developing cameras and consensus building.

**Your Responsibilities**
- Leading a team of highly skilled computer programmers and machine learning experts
- Designing, assembling, and testing underwater camera systems
- Building collaborations, liaising, and leading consensus-building with academic partners in Europe, the United States and Australia
- Writing and approval of grant proposals
- Installation of underwater cameras and other marine surveillance equipment
- Reaching out to coral reef stakeholders
- Creating and disseminating Social Media content

**Your Skills and Experiences**
- Water quality measurement and modelling (experience with field work is a must)
- Underwater imaging and automated image classification
- Marine equipment design and prototyping
- Extensive use of and development of time-series analysis techniques, with a particular focus on empirical nonlinear dynamics.
- Creative skills for contributing new and innovative ideas
- High level of networking / collaborative skills, resilience, organizational awareness, political savvy, ability to foresee trends and situations developing, ability to act swiftly.
