**Role Overview**

The Communication Leader for BD Pharmaceutical Systems is responsible for overseeing internal communications to drive organizational effectiveness and employee engagement, as well as external communications that elevate and enhance the business’ reputation as a premier partner to the pharmaceutical industry in enabling the delivery of life-saving medications.

This role solid line reports to the Director of Public Relations that oversees BD’s Medical Segment, while dotted line reporting to the Vice President of HR, Pharmaceutical Systems (PS). This role will operationally be aligned with the PS Leadership Team, including the PS president. It will have one direct report.

**Primary Responsibilities**
- Executive Team Communications and Change Management_
- Work in partnership with senior leaders and executives to create and execute executive and internal communication strategy and plans to communicate company goals, business strategy, priorities and progress.
- Work with the PS leadership team and PS HR to support development and delivery of communication efforts that further activate and reinforce cultural aspirations.
- Understand and deploy change management strategies where needed that maximize associate adoption and participation globally.
- Create and build communications calendar and execution plans, coordinate communications across the BU.
- Develop and maintain ongoing management of effective communications vehicles. Define and implement strategies that keep these channels fresh while further activating them in innovative and novel ways.
- Leverage analytics to understand and drive insights into the organization regarding change transformation efforts.
- Partner with the Corporate Communications team, along with segment/business leadership, to develop communications strategies and materials for high-impact programs.
- Develop and implement external thought leadership strategy for PS President and select PS leaders.
- Support communications and engagement in Inclusion & Diversity initiatives and events.
- Internal Communications, Associate Engagement and Advocacy _
- Develop, manage, execute, and champion business-wide internal communications and change management strategies and tactics that drive associate engagement through enhanced awareness and understanding of business priorities and key initiatives.
- Support sensitive organizational and transformation initiatives.
- Support business and cultural integration efforts for mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, in partnership with the Corporate Communications team.
- Support communications and engagement in Inclusion & Diversity initiatives and events in alignment and partnership with PS HR.
- Serve as liaison between the business and Corporate Communications team to ensure alignment, sharing of best practices and appropriate inclusion of business content within companywide and segment communications.
- Establish mechanisms for monitoring and measuring the value, impact and outcome of communication and change management initiatives, and proactively adjust approach as needed based on metrics.
- Public Relations_
- Support site communications for PS locations to inform key stakeholders of our efforts and contributions locally.
- Drive thought leadership initiatives to position the PS business as an undisputed leader in drug delivery systems.
- Support Corporate Communications with external issues and reputational threats for the PS business.
- Support the development and implementation of public relations plans for key PS products and initiatives, and when appropriate, target media in alignment with the Corporate Communications Department.
- Social Media Management _
