Agriculture Risk Modeller

You will be part of the Agricultural Risk Modelling team and perform technical pricing and modeling of agricultural reinsurance contracts on a global scale. You will report directly to the Head of Agriculture Risk Modelling.

- You are a Agriculture Risk Modeller and are responsible for your assigned markets.
- You perform pricing analysis of individual reinsurance contracts (transactional business) in a timely manner and consistent with the agriculture pricing methodology
- You develop technically robust loss models and methods in close cooperation with team members, underwriters and/or clients and third-party service providers
- You evaluate and calibrate Catastrophe Risk Modelling tools
- You regularly and proactively collaborate with underwriting specialists. You provide technical advice to UW and represent SCOR in client meetings and conferences
- You analyse weather, agriculture, and natural catastrophe risks, review scientific literature, and reach conclusions related to underlying hazards, such as drought, flood, frost and hail, and their impact on crops
- You contribute to SCOR communication and marketing related to agriculture, climate change and sustainability
- You bring in fresh ideas and together with the team develop the next level of agriculture pricing and modelling methods. You focus on advancing automatization, consistency, and speed
- A track record in pricing or underwriting specialty lines, agricultural risk modelling or natural catastrophe modelling
- Relevant years of work experience
- Excellent quantitative skills and experience with meteorological and/or agricultural data globally
- Powerful programming skills in R/R shiny or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills in English
- Following knowledge is an advantage
- Assessment of climate change impacts with a focus on agriculture
- Financial modelling and commodity market modelling
- Structuring of parametric insurance products
