**Presentation**:
The Institute of Earth Surface Dynamics (IDYST) of the Faculty of Geosciences and Environment of the University of Lausanne opens a position **Postdoctoral Researcher in Rhizosphere Biogeochemistry of Coastal Wetlands** with a focus on coastal marsh ecosystems.

**Job information**:
Expected start date in position : 01.01.2024, or upon mutual agreement.

Contract length : 2 years initially, 4 years total

Activity rate : 100%

Workplace : Lausanne Mouline (Geopolis Building)

**Your qualifications**:
To expand our Soil Biogeochemistry group, we are looking for someone with the following background:

- Excellent knowledge of biogeochemical processes within soils, particularly redox-driven microbially-catalyzed C and metal dynamics, is a requirement. Familiarity with basic concepts of hydrology, plant physiology, and microbial ecology is an advantage.
- Prior experience with basic geochemical and microbial lab procedures and analyses, and data analysis is required. In particular, experience with plant-based experiments, electrochemical sensors, or -omics analyses is an advantage.
- Commitment to conducting research on soil biogeochemical processes regulating carbon fate in coastal marsh systems.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills and an ability to work well in a multicultural team and institute.
- Excellent skills in written and oral English are required. Working knowledge of French is preferable but not necessary.
