Our mission is to make biology easier to engineer. Ginkgo is constructing, editing, and redesigning the living world in order to answer the globe’s growing challenges in health, energy, food, materials, and more. Our bioengineers make use of an in-house automated foundry for designing and building new organisms.

As Lab Manager in the Encapsulation & Screening Foundry you will contribute to the success of our screening campaigns by supporting our research by executing organizational, administrative, as well as technical tasks. If required and possible, you might support specific research programs by performing wet lab work.

**Responsibilities**:
- Organization and maintaining of common consumable stock
- Organization and maintaining of common chemicals, media, reagents, and enzymes
- Responsible for ordering and checking received orders
- Being a foundry liaison for suppliers
- Ensure maintenance and repair of lab equipment
- Supervision and enforcement of lab duties
- General lab assistance
- Organization of shipments to other Ginkgo sites and partners
- Execution of administrative tasks
- General lab assistance

**Skills/Qualifications**
- At least 2 year experience in executing wet lab work in a biological lab
- Experience in lab organization in an academic or industrial lab
- Excellent proven organizational skills
- Strong curiosity for applied biology and technical flair to find unconventional solutions
- High social competence to collaborate with various partners
- Previous role in biosafety and supervision of biosafety guidelines
- Experience with flow cytometry and fluorescent assays
- Flexibility to fast adapt to new situations
