Research Assistant

Embion develops and commercializes the next generation in biomass processing and transformation technology to meet the planet’s growing demand in nutrition, materials and energy supply. Our aim is to become the science and technology leader for producing natural, sustainable, low emission and high functionality products from biomass across all industries.

Starting with nutrition and health, where our team develops, produces, and markets the next generation of natural bioactive nutritional ingredients for humans and animals, we are exploring the full potential of our proprietary processing platform technology to valorize functional ingredients from industrial biomass waste streams.

As our multicultural team grows, we are looking for a Junior Research Assistant or Research Assistant to join our Product Development team and contribute to R&D project work for innovation in new plant
- based nutritional products.

Key job responsibilities:

- Drive technical activities in product development projects
- Plan and perform experiments in projects based good laboratory practices, and continuous improvement mindset
- Deliver strong contribution to project data analysis and results interpretation
- Report / communicate results effectively
- Meet and manage project technical activities timelines and deliverables
- Collaborate with the Product Development team and other functions, technical and beyond
- Build and maintain knowledge and expertise in relevant science & technology areas
- Ensure high laboratory work quality, including instrument maintenance
- And last but not least ensuring also to reduce hazards, and maximize safety and health of self and others, as well as environment protection
Desired qualifications:

- Master of Science degree in Chemical Engineering, Food Science & Technology, Material Science, or Biotechnology
- Ideally 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in Food & Beverages, Nutrition & Health industry, or Cosmetics industry.
- Previous experience with plant materials and active molecules extraction is beneficial
- Experience with product analytical characterization is a plus, e.g. size exclusion chromatography techniques, HPLC, ion chromatography, mass spectroscopy, powder properties, shelf-life studies
- Fluent in English (written and oral); French desired

Schedule:

- 8 Hour Shift
- Monday to Friday
