About the team you are joining

IATA Events provide organizations active in air transport with an essential arena for insight, discussion and cooperation on industry-related issues.

Your will join the IATA events team as Head Events and therefore work in a fast pace, multi-disciplinary and diverse environment.

What your day would be like
- Define the strategy, road map, 3 year business plan, budget, targets and forecasts of the IATA Events
- Lead the Events team members as well as the relationship management with Event suppliers, partners, internal and external stakeholders
- Contribute to the commercial sustainability of IATA, while ensuring that targets are delivered in full and on time.
- Review the Events portfolio structure and value proposition as well as identify potential new events in close collaboration with the business
- Establish a key account management plan with major internal and external sponsors as well as key IATA Strategic Partners including monitoring tools
- Ensure events consistency and standardization by implementing operational SOPs and best practices, including pricing,
- Recruit, lead manage, coach, develop a multicultural team members reviews of RAPIDS and establish a lifecycle review of events
- Implement a 3-year Strategic Plan for regional and global IATA Events including the budget for the upcoming year and ensure that the financial objectives are met (revenues, grow margin and operating results)
- Work closely with the sales and marketing team to assess, grow and diversify the number of delegates ensuring diversity as well as the pool of sponsors with start-ups, small company offers and other profile types
- Lead the World Air Transport Summit (WATS) and other key regional and global IATA events (including the Annual General Meeting, Wings of Change,in collaboration with the Regional and Divisional Teams.

We would love to hear from you if you meet the following requirements
- Have over 15 years of professional experience working with a diverse set of stakeholders in an international context
- Experience in managing significant size of events primarily internally but also used to work with partners andagencies
- Have a high sense of discipline, standardization, cultural awareness, tact and diplomacy to manage efficiently events operations
- Be commercially-driven and have a strategic and customer-centric approach
- Manage budgets and teams (human and financial resources management)
- Are an effective and clear communicator with a proven ability to establish networks, strengthen relationships, and secure partnerships with industry, governments and the media.
- Lead by example and foster effective teamwork and cooperation with staff, as well as with internal and external stakeholders
- Possess leadership and strong stakeholder management experience (desirable)
- Have knowledge of, or previous experience working on Events (desirable)
- Fluent in English. Other languages an asset.
