For our subsidiary Carrier Innovation Technologies, we are looking for a **Breakthrough Technologies (BT) Manager **(M/F/d)** in the Kriens/Luzern region on a permanent basis and as soon as possible.

**Role Responsibilities**:
**Breakthrough Technologies (BT) Manager **(M/F/d)** to be located in Carrier offices in Luzerne, Switzerland, will be responsible for:

- supervise and manage the local Breakthrough Technologies team; work in close collaboration with the local and global team towards insertion into product roadmaps and new product development.
- Lead all aspects of a collaborative network of universities - from planning, to execution, to delivery -, public and private research and innovation laboratories, and industries across Switzerland (with initial focus in Luzerne), to accelerate the development of Breakthrough Technologies and Systems applicable to the HVAC&R industry and to Energy Solutions;

Travel required up to 40%, mostly within Europe; with expected semiannual travel overseas.

**Role Purpose**:

- supervise and manage the local Breakthrough Technologies team;
- work in close collaboration with the local and global team towards insertion into product roadmaps and new product development.
- lead all aspects of a collaborative network of universities - from planning, to execution, to delivery -, public and private research and innovation laboratories, and industries across Switzerland (with initial focus in Luzerne), to accelerate the development of Breakthrough Technologies and Systems applicable to the HVAC&R industry and to Energy Solutions;

**Required Qualifications**
- Masters in Science and Engineering fields (e.g. systems engineering, electrical, computer science, mechanical, chemical).
- 5+years of experience in technology strategy and development in energy systems related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading projects and people.
- Experience setting up and executing technical contracts and workstreams with internal and external partners.
- Great written and oral communications in English.

**Preferred Qualifications**
- PhD in Science and Engineering fields (e.g. systems engineering, energy systems, computer science, mechanical, chemical).
- MBA or equivalent degree.
- Experience in systems engineering and system integration, in particular integrating batteries and thermal storage in largest systems.
- Design thinking methodologies.
- Knowledge of European utilities networks and virtual power plants (VPP) models.
- Experience in technology strategy, technology development processes towards new product development, to include system engineering elements such as requirements and specs management, traceability of requirements, functional decompositions, IP strategy, and some knowledge of cost and business models.
- Experience in working with universities, start-ups, and small and large corporations as external partners.
- Experience setting up working spaces, including labs and calorimetric changers to enable technology development and execution.
- Experience in establishing and executing technology roadmaps, long and short-term planning in coordination with business units, finance, human resources and other functionalities across large corporations.
- Experience working in multi-disciplinary, intercultural environment.
- Coordination with digital teams to insert technology as part of a digital infrastructure
- Enjoys and promotes team-work.
- German language.
