The Associate Director Direct Procurement will lead sourcing efforts and will collaborate with senior functional and operational stakeholders to develop and execute global supply strategies in support of External Manufacturing. The position will support the manufacturing division strategic priorities and will enable core elements of strategy: stability, responsiveness, building capacity, and foster innovation.

The sourcing team partners with the business to ensure efficient acquisition of goods and services that enables the commercialization of our medicines. You will collaborate internationally and are grouped into center-led categories and local operating teams. The job holder will work together with the ExM Procurement team of 7.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Negotiate and manage complex relationships with suppliers in an E2E manner.
- Partner closely with the External Manufacturing Operations, Supply Chain, and OMS Science and Technology, understand the business needs and provide proactive solutions.
- Focus on innovation and value creation by deepening (strategic) supplier relationships.
- Engage, obtain sponsorship, and influence senior level stakeholders / demonstrate procurement value proposition.
- Contracting - independently negotiate contracts with suppliers with mínimal legal support, considering business needs and objectives.
- Help enable (reduce) Time to Market by establishing right collaborations and structure agreements accordingly.
- Bring and enhance Market Knowledge and insight as a source of innovation.
- Act as change agent, demonstrating added value brought by the procurement function.
- Professional, prompt, and proactive handling of all issues and projects within the portfolio, both Strategy Development, Execution and Management - Work with cross-functional teams to create strategies that deliver results.
- Stakeholder Management, Business Sponsorship, Business partnering - Work in a way that positively engages the support of stakeholders using problem solving and proactive communication skills. Build a keen insight and understanding of business requirements and satisfy business needs.
- Actively support diversity, both within the company as well as including, expanding relationships with diverse suppliers.

**Your profile**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree, preferably Business Management or Life Sciences, Supply Chain or related discipline.
- Strong experience in direct procurement (API, DP, Devices and Packaging) and working with CDMOs in the pharmaceutical industry.
- Strong problem-solving ability, capable of seeing cause-effect (connect the dots, thinks "end to end", uses facts and data).
- Highly organized, drives results and manages projects on time with a keen focus on accuracy, independent and willing to take ownership, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, ability to communicate in an organized fashion to senior stakeholders.
- Negotiation skills.
- Fluent in English

- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
