The Director Sanctions, AML & CTF Compliance is a senior professional with significant, knowledge, skills, experience, and expertise in relation to economic sanctions, anti-money laundering legislation and the financial regulatory landscape for payment services. The role is part of the second line of defense and, as such, is part of a function that is independent from the business lines of the organization.

What your day would be like

Design, implement and maintain IATA's compliance with global regulatory obligations vis-à-vis country specific Financial Legislations and Economic Sanctions regimes and maintain and renew all of IATA's country specific Financial Licenses
Deliver, manage and maintain the following key elements of IATA's compliance program to meet statutory obligations vis-à-vis applicable Financial Legislations and Economic Sanctions regimes worldwide: Risk Assessment & Risk Scoring; Transaction monitoring; Know Your Customer (due diligence program); Monitoring of Economic Sanctions Regulations; Communication & Training; Periodic Review & Audit; Record keeping & Reporting.
Fulfil the statutory role of Chief Money Laundering Reporting Officer (MLRO) and/or Compliance Officer (CO) for IATA's financial services in specific jurisdictions as required by the relevant regulatory authorities
Manage the Compliance Department team, and provide training and adequate support to direct reports
Manage vendors in cases where specific compliance activities have been outsourced to ensure services are fit for purpose and meet regulatory standards
Manage IATA's annual external regulatory compliance audits in relation to IATA's financial services and products
Prepare semi-annual Compliance reports to IATA's Audit Committee and prepare and escalate matters to management where required
Recommend and communicate cost-effective measures for properly managing financial regulatory compliance risks to management
Identify and assist management in the maintenance of controls to ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies
Review the implementation of any corrective action plans following Compliance recommendations and ensures proper follow-up is made
Assists management in the identification and/or the evaluation of financial regulatory compliance related risks
Support Legal with all matters and issues pertaining to financial regulatory Compliance
Develop with Legal relevant compliance training for employees
Keeps abreast of Compliance requirements and guidelines and update compliance policies accordingly

Education
Masters Degree in a business-related discipline
Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Financial and Banking Law
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS)
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE)
Experience
15+ years proven managerial experience in a multi-national compliance role in financial servics (banking experience and knowledge preferable) with at least 10 years managing AML and Economic sanctions compliance programs, and 10 years managing Financial Regulatory compliance programs for stored value facility and payment products
Must have held the role of registered CO or MLRO with one or more of the following regulatory authorities: Fintrac, Fincen, MAS, FInma, Bafin, Austrac or ACPR or the NCA
Experience obtaining payment service licenses and exemptions from regulatory authorities and managing and coordinating regulatory audits

**Skills**:Capable of developing and implementing various compliance risk assessment methodologies
Deep understanding of banking and payment services and products
Advanced knowledge in analyzing and interpreting Canadian, US, UK, EU and Swiss economic sanctions regimes
Advanced knowledge of Canadian, Swiss and Singaporean AML legislation and financial regulatory landscape for payment services
Ability to interpret regulatory guidance in a commercial context
Ability to communicate at senior management level on strategic regulatory issues
Fluent in English and French (other languages such as Arabic and asset)

Travel Required: 10%
