Laboratory Technician

We are looking for a Laboratory Technician for one of our customers based in Geneva. The Lab Technician reports to the Lab Supervisor. Technicians perform testing and creates reports on samples as requested by the Technical Service group. Lab Technicians also have responsibilities to maintain laboratory and testing equipment in good working order.

**Your mission**

**Responsibilities**:
- Follow company core values and ensure** testing and data recording **activities meet required standards.
- Maintain laboratory environment control and records.
- Responsible for performing** tests on polymer** according to defined testing standards such as
- MFR, Rheology
- Volatiles test, density test, FTIR
- Various dispersion testing
- Mechanical polymer property testing such as tensile properties, hardness, MIT flexlife,
high pressure tube testing.
- Electrical polymer property testing such as break down voltage and resistivity.
- Heat and/or fluid aging tests
- Processing by molding, extrusion
- Other tests as needed.
- The laboratory technician is responsible for ensuring that test equipment is maintained in good order (calibration and maintenance)
- May be expected to perform other administrative tasks in support of the correct and efficient operation of the laboratory (such as inventory management, waste management, safety related activities)

**Your profile** Qualifications**:

- Education : Lab technician as a minimum requirement
- 3 years work experience as lab technician is preferred.
- **Work experience in a polymer test laboratory** or polymer processing would be welcome.
- Advanced computing ( data logging and computer aided design is a plus)

**Skills and knowledge**:

- Experience of polymer testing.
- Ability to operate test equipment.
- Knowledge of polymer test methods and standards are a plus.
- Data analysis capability preferred.
- Good communication skills (written, oral) in French
- English communication skills are a plus.
- Works well in a team.
- Ability to use basic computer tools (Word, Excel,)
- Ability to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
