Process Analytics is a division within the METTLER TOLEDO Group and a leading global supplier of field instruments for the analysis of liquids and gases in the process industry. At our main site in Urdorf, Zurich we develop and produce high-quality sensors for the control of production processes, which we sell worldwide through our own market organizations.
To strengthen our ‘Electrical Engineering Team’ within our R&D Organization, we are looking for an independent personality as a
**Hardware Architect 100% (f/m/d)**
In this role, your responsibilities would include:
- Together with the commercial partner and the software architect, responsible for the strategical development of the next generation of transmitters based on technical options, market needs, and industry trends
- Develop the hardware architecture for new innovative transmitter platforms with an emphasis on scalability, modularity, flexibility, and performance
- Monitor the technical evolution to identify key technologies, work on proof-of-concept, establish verification and testing strategies and ensure proper documentation during the design and implementation of the new platform
- Take technical leadership in hardware architecture topics; provide technological, architectural as well as implementational consulting to the global sub-teams in Switzerland, China and USA
- Ensure that the electronic and mechanical co-design are fully compliant with regulatory aspects such as EX, EMC and electrical safety
Ihr Profil
- Following requirements are necessary for this role:
- You have a Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or in a related technical/scientific discipline
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in product electronics design, preferably in the fields of chemical & pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in designing PCBs with Altium Designer and/or Mentor Graphics
- Deep and up-to-date knowledge of electronic components, product development methods and HW design compliance matters (e.g. EMC, ATEX)
- Excellent knowledge of embedded systems and processor architectures
- Good knowledge of communication hardware and protocols (e.g. ProfiNet, Ethernet/APL)
- Strong in intercultural exchange, experience in collaborating with Chinese contributors is a big plus
- You are fluent in English verbal and written, good German skills are mandatory as well
- Positive and motivating personality, "can-do" mentality that gets things done
- Willing to learn and understand new technologies & methodologies
- Willingness to travel on an occasional basis
