Linux Architect

As Linux Architect you will join a global multi-site IT team which is responsible for all the Company's IT infrastructure and you will manage with a positive approach the substantial Linux environment at u-blox HQ and across the globe.
- The IT Team supports a heterogenous infrastructure of both Windows (clients and servers) and Linux environment and they contribute to maintain a high level of security compliance
- To be gratified in this role, you have to keen to learn and develop present skills: you will have the chance to assess your abilities in problem solving and in thinking out of the box.
- Create solutions from challenging requirements and seeking new ways to solve problems are part of this challenging role.
- The role is located in Switzerland (Zurich area).**Your Responsibilities**
- Defining the architecture of Linux environments
- Planning and prioritizing team technical activities
- Installing, configuring, supporting, maintaining and optimizing Linux architectures
- You will be involved in IT Security related projects and review general IT security within the Linux environment
- Manage Linux tools and OS updates globally and create and update of IT related documentation for systems and changes
- Work closely with your colleagues in other u-blox locations to ensure alignment of all IT activities with other sites and existing IT Processes/Policies/Standards/Conventions
- Involvement in site specific and global scope IT projects as part of the wider global u-blox IT Team
- Manage purchasing for IT-related items and coordinate with external suppliers and liaise with senior management with regards to the budget and plan future IT expenditure

**Your Skills and Experience**
- Experience of using and administering Linux, knowledge of Ubuntu, Debian and Red Hat
- Experience in coordinating team activities
- Familiar with hosting Linux within Cloud environments
- Ability to independently drive and coordinate projects within the team
- Knowledge of tools and solutions, such as, Ansible, Orcharhino / Foreman, AWS / Azure, samba AD integration / SSSD
- Due to the number of countries u-blox operates in you will need to have excellent communication skills both spoken and written, in English
- Swiss or EU/EFTA citizen or resident with valid work permit for Switzerland
