**Associate Director, Biotech Development CenterStrategy and Performance Management **(M/F/d)

Reporting to our Biotech Development CenterSite Head, you will be in charge to coordinate our CMC development and support functions to develop our strategy of excellence and drive our operational performance. Your leadership will include the design and promotion of our cultural identity at BDC relaying our High Impact Culture at Merck, the deployment of OE methodologies and PMO standards, the roll-out of fundamentals of performance management, the design of general site governance with respect to essential services and finally the management of the communication and the branding of the site to internal and external stakeholders.

**Your role**:

- Provide OE and PMO expertise to CMC development and support functions at BDC
- Lead BDC strategy execution using OE methodologies and PMO in line with the vision, mission and strategy of GD&L
- Develop BDC roadmap, drive transformation projects, excellence programs and lean initiatives. Set up PMO governance, manage project portfolio, track progress and report issues, deliverables, and achievements.
- Lead the performance management of the site, set up the governance and principles, implement the performance cascade and the dashboarding, manage the periodic reviews, the reporting and action plans.
- Develop and promote BDC cultural identity relaying our HIC at Merck "I Care/I Pioneer/I Outperform". Lead working groups gathering BDC functions to design and align on mission, vision and ambitions of the site.
- Lead and manage the communication plan of the site to internal and external stakeholders (incl. Biotech communities) in coordination with global functions when needed. Foster the organisation of events, seminars etc... and develop the branding of the site.
- Lead the general services serving BDC site as a whole, set up governance and ensure the coordination of essential services (admin, offices, cafeteria, mobility etc...)
- Represent Merck in drug substance related industry consortiums

**Who you are**:

- Degree in Life Science/Food required or equivalent, with an advanced degree (Ph.D) preferred
- 10+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical/food industry, including 5+years of expertise in process development or manufacturing
- Strong leadership and great communication skills
- Significant experience ininnovation and change management
- Proven track recordof building and leading teams of highly qualified engineers and scientists in a matrix environment
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and negotiate solutions with different functions/stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills to support and improve our excellence capabilities
- Excellent skills in writing, oral, interpersonal communication and presentation (English); French would be considered as a plus.
