**Main Purpose**:
The European Energy Originator is responsible for the growth and further development of the Energy business in Europe with a focus on Power products as well as the expansion of the origination business for Trafigura.
- The Power Originator works closely together with the Power Traders, external customers and counterparties, as well as internal customers such as Operations and Deals Desk.**Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities**:
**Knowledge, Skills and Abilities**
- Strong experience of the European Power market and wider Global Power market knowledge (minimum 3 years in Origination)
- Existing network in the power trading market
- Ability to originate and negotiate complex power transactions (PPA's, FEMA's, ISDA's) as well as hedging deals via SPV's.
- Experience with bilateral power deals with trading houses and utilities.
- Experience with market access for storage and battery agreements.
- Short Term rolling hedge understanding.
- Competent with end to end deal lifecycles in the short-term markets.
- Fluent in English. Additional languages beneficial (in particular, German or Nordic language)
- High degree of commercial focus, business acumen and PnL responsibility
- Minimum Bachelor degree in related subjets (Economics, Business Management, Mathematics, International Trade, etc.)

**Key Responsibilities**
- Origination of complex deals using various methods such as bilateral power deals with Trading houses and Utilities as well as hedging with funds managers of SVP's etc.
- Ongoing Origination of deals such as; long term PPA's. FEMA's ISDA's and market access agreements.
- Originate and execute structured transactions in flexible generation and renewable power
- Lead the sourcing and negotiation of Power deals across Europe.
- Build a balanced book of business
- Develop franchise power business in Europe (both longs and shorts)
- Build a list of captive counterparties + maintain relationship (including negotiating EFETs/ISDAs any other relevant documents)
- Work with relevant departments in Trafigura (legal, credit, risk, contracts, compliance, ops and deals) to support transactions execution, documentation and scheduling
