Junior Business Risk Manager

**Purpose of the role**:
As part of the bank’s 3-year strategic plan, we are looking for a junior individual to strengthen our business risk management capabilities. This position will support the 1st level controls with focus on account opening and reviews. It is a challenging role at the heart of our Private Bank. You will have an opportunity to coordinate, facilitate and streamline the interactions among the Front Office Teams and the Compliance and Risk Departments. This position is ideal to grow within a dynamic bank.

Mission
**Job description/ key responsibilities**:

- Be the Front Office partner in the analysis of existing clients (physical persons and entities), account data and documents in accordance with internally defined standards derived from the regulatory framework (CDB, LBA, etc )
- Perform comprehensive background checks, due diligence research, assess and document the sources of information
- Assess and ensure the relevance and completeness of KYC information supplied by Front Office and perform appropriate due diligence checks and information searches to comply with bank standards of client onboarding.
- Advise & Train Front Office on the onboarding requirement in accordance with Bank’s AML/KYC standards and regulatory requirement, and partner with Front Office to meet the requirement.
- Work actively on the 1st level controls such as cross-border, cash transactions, suitability
- Contribute ideas to further improve and streamline the KYC processes as well as participate in strategic technology change initiatives.
- Raise awareness of the front office to risks and generally assist and educate the front office with regards to its duties as a “first line of defense”
- Support the Business risk manager with the monitoring of document deficiencies, AML/transaction monitoring pending and “first line of defense” controls
- Back up the Business risk manager and participate in ad hoc/special projects and in the implementation of all business risk related tasks/projects.

Profil
**Education**:

- University degree or equivalent (preferably in Business Administration, Economics or Information management)
- CAS in Compliance a strong preference

**Professional Experience required**:

- Relevant prior experience in a similar position of 2 years
- Professional certification in Compliance and /or AML/CTF would be an advantage,
- Solid understanding of all front-line processes (account openings, client documentation, investment processes, transaction monitoring, etc.) and related regulatory requirements (AML, tax, compliance)
- Sound knowledge and experience in Excel

- Ability to summarize complex topics and multi-task skills,
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence.
- Self-motivated, team orientated and hands-on personality, comfortable with driving and managing change, challenging status quo.
- Ability to be client centric while balancing business needs and controls.
- Trustworthy with confidential information.

**Languages**:
French & English fluent - any other European language a plus (German, Spanish or Portuguese).
