EHS Expert

We are looking for an EHS expert for our modern location in St. Gallen. In this role, the focus is on occupational safety, followed by explosion protection. You will report directly to the Senior Director, EMEA Regional Lead EHS.

Key Responsibilities

• Identifying and monitoring all necessary measures to comply with the specified legal requirements and guidelines that are necessary to prevent accidents and improve occupational safety through professional advice and support in the planning, execution and maintenance of operational facilities and social and sanitary facilities.

• Safety-related inspection and assessment of operating systems/work procedures and technical work equipment before commissioning.

• Inspection/assessment of workplaces and working conditions at regular intervals by inspecting and reporting any deficiencies identified and initiating the necessary measures.

• Advice on the procurement of technical work equipment and the introduction of work processes and working materials.

• Advice on workplace design, workflow, working environment and advice on other ergonomics issues.

• Determining the causes of accidents at work by recording and evaluating the results of the investigation and drawing up suitable measures.

• Supporting management in risk assessment.

• Supporting management in creating a suitable organization and integrating it into management activities.

• Development of new concepts to improve occupational health and safety.

• Explosion protection

• Guaranteeing and improving the explosion protection concept following legal requirements

• Determination of explosion hazards, among other things, by using TRGS-727

• Creating and updating explosion protection documents

• Control of ground measurements

• Zoning

• Classification according to ATEX

• Training of employees about explosion protection

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in safety technology, engineering, or natural sciences (preferably mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or chemistry)

• Specialist in occupational safety according to the Ordinance on Accident Prevention, VUV Article 11

• Knowledge of the Swiss and EHS legislation, Swiss Accident Insurance (Suva) regulations

• Several years of industrial experience in pharmaceuticals, chemistry, electrical engineering, mechanical or plant engineering.

• More than 5 years of professional experience in the relevant field

• Fluent English, German is nice to have
