Regulatory and Materials Expert

As a function-head department, GPTC coordinates an international network of Product & Trade Compliance managers (+50) around the World and across the business. HOW WILL YOU MAKE AN IMPACT? As a “Regulatory & Materials’ Expert” within the GPTC Regulatory Team, you will participate to ensure the reliability of the information set in the Group Materials’ Data Base from both a Product & Trade Compliance and Nomenclature perspectives. The first refers to the identification and types of P&T regulations applying to a given material, the latter is about the standardized naming, classification, and field attributes of the material. The role of the PTC Regulatory & Materials’ Expert is key to make a company-wide availability of detailed information on materials’ properties and their compliance aspects, as well as ensuring P&T awareness on any new material requested by the business to be created in the Materials’ Data Base. Your main activities will be as follows:With the help of the GPTC Regulatory Team Experts, you will set-up the right processes and tools of regulatory intelligence to stay up to date on regulations impacting materials. You will participate to the system-workflow of creation and update of materials’ attributes in the Group Materials’ Data Base, by validating materials’ nomenclature and compliance attributes. You will participate to the organization of webinar sessions for Q&A around the above workflow of materials’ creation/update in the Materials’ Data Base. You will work closely with the business to stay up to date on the mapping of suppliers and related materials used by the industry and with suppliers, vendors and materials’ experts to source, verify, and qualify materials’ attributes. You will contribute to overall improvements of the validation workflow and of the Materials’ Data Model. You will reflect & participate on the general continuous improvement of the services delivered by the Regulatory Team (regulatory intelligence, regulatory content production, conformity assessment processes in Maisons, etc.). HOW WILL YOU EXPERIENCE SUCCESS WITH US? University degree in materials’ science, engineering, chemistry, biology or related fields. Min 5 years’ experience providing consultation, performing research, content writing in an international environment in the field of Expertise contributing to Materials and/or Regulations, preferably in Luxury, Metallurgy, Polymer Chemistry, Automotive, or Certification & Testing industry. Strong knowledge of global product material compliance regulations (GHS, REACH, ROHS, POP, TSCA). Experience in the normative environment of materials (UNS, ISO, DIN, SNV, NIHS) and in the materials’ properties, nomenclature and classification. Experience in regulatory research (regulatory databases and online resources). Basic understanding of PDM & PLM tools’ purposes. A good general culture, intellectually curious and motivated to extend existing materials knowledge across new classes of materials and regulations. Strong interpersonal skills, humility & listening, inspire trust. A consultative and cooperative way of interacting, but ability to enforce Group guidelines & vision. Knowledge of the Luxury industry network of suppliers is a +. Excellent oral and written communications skills in French and in English.
