Job Description

As Otis Elevators' Subcontracting Manager, your role is crucial to ensure the successful management of subcontracted services on our elevator projects. You will be the owner of the subcontracting process and will develop and supervise the entire subcontracting process, from supplier selection and contract negotiation to quality assurance and safety performance monitoring.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Identify and evaluate potential subcontractors, conducting in-depth assessments of their skills, capabilities, performance, and safety track records.
  2. Implement written instructions for the subcontracting process in accordance with internal OTIS CPM17 supply chain rules and OTIS GS110 safety requirements.
  3. Set up a subcontracting tracking tool to keep track of authorized companies, validated jobs, and certified employees for specific tasks.
  4. Negotiate contracts and service level agreements with subcontractors, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  5. Work closely with the EHS department to develop basic training and annual refresher courses to guarantee team and workplace safety.
  6. Collaborate with internal teams to define project requirements and ensure subcontractors meet deadlines and deliverables.
  7. Monitor subcontractor performance and resolve any discrepancies to ensure compliance with quality, efficiency, and safety standards.
  8. Manage financial aspects of subcontracting, including budgeting, cost control, and invoicing processes.
  9. Conduct EHS assessments of subcontractors and define necessary corrective actions.
  10. Serve as the main contact for subcontractors regarding organizational matters and training assistance.

Qualifications

  1. Engineering degree or equivalent experience in a similar field.
  2. Proven experience in subcontracting management, preferably in the construction sector.
  3. Strong negotiation, contract management, and supplier evaluation skills.
  4. Knowledge of accident prevention principles and safety regulations is a plus.
  5. Fluency in French, German, and English; other national languages are an asset.
  6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with stakeholders.
  7. Knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and laws.
