We are looking for a Commissioning and Qualification Lead who is eager to be part of our pioneering manufacturing project as an extension of our biotech, pharmaceutical and chemical production site in Bulle, Switzerland.

About the project

As part of our ongoing commitment to innovation and growth in the pharmaceutical industry, we are launching a major project to build and qualify a production unit for a chemical component used in biotech product manufacturing. This is an exciting opportunity to join our project team in a permanent contract and get involved from the design phase through to the construction, qualification and start-up of the plant. We are seeking talented professionals to complete our project team and bring this essential facility to life.

About the role

As the Commissioning and Qualification (C&V) Lead for the project, you will be responsible for leading and defining the C&V project organisation of the future production unit. You will establish and implement the C&V strategies and documentation supporting the project objectives during all project phases, from basic design to equipment qualification, and process tech transfer. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of commissioning requirements and equipment qualification and technologies.

What you'll do

  1. Develop and implement comprehensive C&V strategies, compliant with industry standards and regulations.
  2. Establish, lead and develop the project C&V organisation, in alignment with project objectives.
  3. Work closely with the local Qualification stakeholders to incorporate existing UCB qualification systems as appropriate.
  4. Prepare, implement and maintain the required C&V documentation supporting all project phases in a timely manner.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, partners and suppliers to ensure that defined C&V processes are applied and met.

Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills

  1. Master's degree.
  2. > 5 years in pharmaceutical and/or biotechnological manufacturing as QA lead or expert.
  3. Participation in projects of construction and qualification of pharma/biotech units or similar projects.
  4. Strong leadership skills.
  5. High level of autonomy and proactivity.
  6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization and work collaboratively within a team.
  7. Good level of spoken and written French and English.
  8. Strong problem-solving abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying challenges and implementing effective solutions.
  9. Capacity to prioritize effectively and make decisions.
