Your mission

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Junior Accountant to join our Finance team in Visp, Switzerland. The successful junior accountant will be responsible for managing all aspects of Accounts Payable and Receivable operations, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions, and maintaining strong relationships with vendors and customers.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Accounts Payable:
    • Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies.
    • Reconcile vendor statements and resolve any discrepancies.
    • Manage vendor relationships and maintain accurate vendor records.
    • Prepare and process payments to vendors.
    • Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Accounts Receivable:
    • Invoice customers accurately and timely.
    • Monitor customer accounts for outstanding payments.
    • Follow up on overdue invoices and resolve any payment issues.
    • Prepare and analyze customer aging reports.
    • Assist with credit and collections activities.
  • General Accounting:
    • Assist with other accounting functions as needed, such as bank reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
Your profile

We are looking for someone with:

  • Completed commercial apprentice or Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Completed or in process of a further education in Switzerland e.g. “Sachbearbeiter Rechnungswesen” or Swiss Certified Accountant qualification is highly preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in Accounts Payable and Receivable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High affinity for computer systems especially in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (ERP - Microsoft Business Central).
  • Fluency in German & English (written and spoken).
