As an Application Engineer/Technical Specialist, you will collaborate with cutting‑edge companies across a wide range of industries, such as Industrial Automation and Machinery, Electrical and Electronics, and Energy and Utilities. Your primary focus will be on Engineered Systems, helping customers design, simulate, and optimise sophisticated systems and processes. This dynamic role will guide customers through technical challenges, drive innovation within their workflows, and contribute to the growth and success of MathWorks. Responsibilities Participate as a technical/product/workflow expert in sales & services activities with MathWorks customers. Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Field Support teams; analyse and share new opportunities, customer feedback, and market trend data. Understand customer requirements and engineering challenges, and demonstrate scalable and cost‑efficient technical computing solutions. Develop networks with MathWorks Product Development teams, share learned experiences, and propose feedback for enhancements or features in MATLAB and Simulink. Attend regional research and industry events and present MATLAB & Simulink capabilities and user stories. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and 6 years of professional work experience, or master's degree and 3 years, or PhD or equivalent experience. Additional Qualifications Fluent English and German (CEFR level C1) are required. Experience with modern software engineering practices for large‑scale technical computing systems, including version control, automated testing, and continuous integration. Commercial customer‑facing, pre‑sales, solution/systems engineering experience. Willingness to travel up to 10%.
