Join our Bio-based R&D team within Chemtech division in Switzerland as Junior R&D Polymer Reaction Engineer to help us take our Bio-based and Renewable Applications to the next level. You will actively participate in diverse and exploratory work in the field of R&D to facilitate the technology development of sustainable processes for bio-based materials processing and production. Your tasks will include synthesis and characterization of bio-polymers and bio-monomers, design and implement mathematical models and simulations, execution of customer trials, and support of internal R&D projects. Your main tasks and responsibilities: Actively participate in experiments ranging from lab to pilot scale, supporting R&D engineers in bio-monomer production and bio-polymer research. Design and implement mathematical models and simulations to support scale-up activities and industrialization Analyse experimental and process data to extract insights and support decision-making. Collaborate with cross-functional teams. Develop automation tools and scripts to streamline R&D workflows. Document methodologies, results, and technical findings in clear, structured reports. To succeed in this role, you will need: Laboratory experience in conducting organic chemistry experiments and polymer synthesis. Reaction Engineer knowledge of simulation tools and modelling environments. Proven experience in scientific computing and data analysis using MATLAB and Python. Strong understanding of numerical methods, optimization, and statistical analysis. Excellent English. German, Italian, and French are an asset. Capable of prioritizing tasks, strong sense of organization, independent work organization, team, and customer oriented.
