Consultant - Mainframe L2 Support - Zurich, Switzerland

Job Description Role – Consultant Technology – Mainframes, COBOL, PL1 Location – Zurich, Switzerland Compensation – Competitive (including bonus) Your role As a Consultant, you are an expert at contributing to different phases of the consulting lifecycle. You will be intensely involved in defining the problem, proposing and refining solutions, and playing an important role in the development, configuration and deployment of the overall solution. You will guide teams on project processes, deliverables and contribute to proposal development, client training, internal capability building, and help detail the project scope. You will have the opportunity to shape value‑adding consulting solutions that enable our clients to meet the changing needs of the global landscape. Responsibilities Provide L2 Production Support for Custody & Settlement applications operating on Mainframe systems. Hands‑on experience in Mainframe L2 Production Support. Monitor and troubleshoot batch jobs, online transactions, and data flows, and resolve incidents impacting settlement cycles. Perform Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and impact analysis, applying fixes using JCL and DB2 queries. Collaborate with L3 Development, Operations, and Business teams to ensure timely and effective issue resolution. Support release deployments, perform application validations, and handle post‑implementation checks across Mainframe and Distribution platforms. Use monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk and Grafana to analyze anomalies, monitor system health, and proactively identify issues. Execute and support Disaster Recovery (DR) activities including environment validation, system switchovers, data verification, and functionality testing. Conduct Quarterly Maintenance Window (QMW) checkout activities, validating batch jobs, application stability, interfaces, file transfers, and end‑to‑end system functionality. Preferred Skills Strong expertise in JCL, DB2, batch processing, and mainframe debugging. Good understanding of Custody, Settlement, or Post‑Trade workflows (preferred in BFSI domain). Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk and Grafana. Ability to perform detailed RCA, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide long‑term fixes. Familiarity with release management, DR processes, and system validations. Strong communication, analytical thinking, and cross‑team coordination skills. Personal Attributes High analytical skills.
