The position
As the new VP RWE & Scientific Communications, you will:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive RWE strategy to address critical data gaps in key international operations (IO) markets, ensuring impactful insights for clinical practice, regulatory needs, and market access strategies.
- Lead the planning and development of strategic and high-quality scientific communication, including publications and presentations, while ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards.
- Partner with internal teams and collaborate with external stakeholders to align RWE and scientific communication with business needs and ensure credibility.
- Shape and steer execution of international RWE programs together with the team, ensuring timely execution, monitoring of impact, and continuously improving processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Build and lead a high-performing team, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability, and addressing skill gaps through development programs.

The role reports into Yan Cai, Senior Vice President Medical & Marketing, International Operations-Strategic Operations (IO-SO), Novo Nordisk.
You will lead a team of 5 direct reports and the position will be based in Zurich, Switzerland.
Qualifications
Our VP RWE & Scientific Communications requires:
- Preferably MD or PharmD with specialty training and/or significant research background in cardiometabolic disease area.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in RWE, Medical Affairs or scientific communication, with a strong background in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry.
- Proven expertise in designing and executing RWE studies and translating findings into actionable insights.
- Strong understanding of regulatory, market access, and healthcare system dynamics in global markets.
- Highly strategic mindset and ability to connect stakeholders across departments.
- Exceptional leadership and team management skills, with a track record of building and leading high-performing teams.
