Job Description:For our customer located in Basel Kaiseraugst, Switzerland, we are currently looking for a Expert Sinequa / Search Specialist (m/f/x).
- Branch: Pharma
- Possible to work fully remote; also possible to work onsite.
- When the consultant is based outside of Switzerland, it’s necessary to work as a freelancer.
- When the consultant is based in Switzerland, it’s also possible to get employed by us (payroll).
The Search Specialist within the Enterprise Search Platform Team is responsible for maintaining and optimizing the platform powered by Sinequa technology. This role focuses on platform lifecycle and data source indexing to ensure the platform operates efficiently and effectively and properly supports the use cases that leverage the platform capabilities.

Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Indexing and Content Management: Collaborate with data source owners and application owners to ensure that all relevant content is properly indexed and searchable in the context of a specific use case. This involves understanding business requirements, setting up indexing rules, and ensuring accurate and efficient content retrieval.
- Issue Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Monitor the search platform for any issues or anomalies and provide timely resolutions. Troubleshoot and resolve search-related issues, working closely with cross-functional teams and vendors if needed.
- Documentation and Best Practices: Develop and maintain documentation and best practices for the search platform, including configuration settings, indexing guidelines, troubleshooting procedures, and performance optimization techniques.
- Maintenance and Optimization: Regularly maintain and optimize the Sinequa search platform, ensuring it is up-to-date and performing at its best. This includes monitoring system health, implementing necessary upgrades and patches, and configuring platform settings for optimal performance.
Must Haves:
- Sinequa University Accreditation Certificate – Solution Architect.
- 2 years experience working in an Agile delivery model, preferably SAFe.
- 3 years minimum experience working with Sinequa.
- Familiarity with data structures, databases, SQL, and NoSQL databases (e.g., graph databases, vector databases).
- Good understanding of programming languages such as C# (important), Java, Angular, and Python.
- Proficiency in metadata management.
- Search capabilities powered by Sinequa as an enterprise search engine platform.
- Knowledge of artificial intelligence (AI), natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning (ML) algorithms used for search.
- Fluency in English is required; French is nice to have.
- Experience with Large Language Model usage in an enterprise environment, especially prompt engineering for RA.
