The Opportunity
We are looking for a 6-months intern to join our development A-team as of February 2025. In this internship, you will work within the applications team on cutting-edge robot inspection methodologies, which offers you the possibility to create new capabilities and direct value to our customers.
We ensure that our robots deliver the expected inspection value from the sensors integrated on the platform during our autonomous mission rounds.
The Market & Our Technology
ANYbotics transforms industrial plants in the energy, process, and utility sector by introducing robotics to a wide range of novel applications that so far were beyond reach. Our customers are large asset operators and industrial service providers pioneering the use of robotics technology for inspection and maintenance. Our mobile robot ANYmal uses legs for extreme mobility in complex environments, camera- and LIDAR-based sensing for full autonomy and obstacle avoidance, and AI for high-quality and consistent inspection results. We develop numerous customized hardware systems, including the entire robotic platform, actuators, sensors, inspection payloads, charging systems, and all related ANYbotics electrical hardware.
Your Contributions
- Research, design, and develop novel approaches to autonomous industrial inspection in the field of gas sensing and leak detection.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve navigation and behavioral aspects of our ANYmal products for inspection purposes.
- Support the development of new robot functionalities through testing and simulation.
Your Profile
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in software or robotics engineering.
- Coding knowledge (preferably C++) for real-time application development.
- Familiarity with robotics frameworks such as ROS1/ROS2.
- Basic experience in designing and executing experiments, involving sensors and mechatronic systems.
- Ability to work autonomously in a team and to research and develop new methodologies.
- Good communication skills in English both verbally and in writing.
Bonus Points
- Experience in the field of gas leak detection and gas sensing.
Please note that we are only able to consider applications from students enrolled in a Swiss University who reside in Switzerland.
