About the Role

Our software client is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with expertise in C/C++ and Python, along with strong experience in AI, Machine Learning (ML), and robotics, to join our innovative team in Zurich, Switzerland. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge robotics solutions, developing intelligent software systems that integrate advanced AI/ML techniques.

As a key member of our engineering team, you will contribute to the design, development, and optimisation of high-performance software solutions for autonomous systems, robotic control, and machine learning applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimise high-performance software using C/C++ and Python for robotics applications.
  • Develop and implement AI/ML algorithms for real-time decision-making, perception, and control in robotics systems.
  • Work on robotic motion planning, computer vision, and sensor fusion for autonomous and semi-autonomous systems.
  • Collaborate with hardware, AI, and robotics teams to develop integrated software-hardware solutions.
  • Design and implement low-level firmware and embedded software for real-time robotic control.
  • Optimise software performance for high-speed, real-time robotic applications.
  • Conduct debugging, testing, and validation of AI-driven robotic systems.
  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements in AI, ML, and robotics technologies to drive innovation.

Key Requirements

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics, AI, or a related field.
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python, with experience in real-time and embedded systems.
  • Expertise in AI/ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, OpenCV, Scikit-learn).
  • Experience with robotics software frameworks such as ROS (Robot Operating System).
  • Knowledge of robotic perception, path planning, and control algorithms.
  • Strong understanding of computer vision, sensor fusion, and real-time AI applications.
  • Experience with hardware integration, real-time systems, and embedded software development.
  • Ability to write efficient, clean, and maintainable software for robotic applications.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with experience in performance optimisation.

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Experience with autonomous mobile robots (AMRs), drones, or industrial automation.
  • Familiarity with control systems, kinematics, and mechatronics.
  • Knowledge of cloud robotics, edge computing, and distributed AI systems.
  • Exposure to cybersecurity and safety standards in robotics.
