Software Engineer (TL), AR/VR - EMEA Meta is seeking an experienced technical leader to join Reality Labs to build cutting‑edge AR/VR technology. You will manage complex technical problems, build new features, and improve existing products across Meta’s AR and VR devices. Responsibilities Drive the team’s goals and technical direction to pursue opportunities that make Meta more efficient. Effectively communicate complex features and systems in detail. Understand industry and company‑wide trends to assess and develop new technologies. Partner and collaborate with organization leaders to improve the level of performance of the team and organization. Identify new opportunities for the larger organization and influence the appropriate people for staffing/prioritizing these new ideas. Lead long‑term technical strategy and roadmap for large cross‑company efforts. Suggest, collect and synthesize requirements and create an effective feature and technology roadmap. Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, and drive large efforts to reduce technical debt. Minimum Qualifications Programming experience in C++ and Python. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience. Proven track record of planning multi‑year roadmap in which short‑term projects ladder to the long‑term mission. Proven track record of leading exploratory projects from ideation to proof‑of‑concepts. Experience driving large cross‑functional, company or industry‑wide engineering efforts. Experience utilizing data and analysis to explain technical problems and provide detailed feedback and solutions. Experience communicating and working across functions to drive solutions. Experience mentoring/influencing experienced engineers across organizations. Experience manipulating and analyzing complex, high‑volume data from varying sources. Experience in machine learning. Preferred Qualifications PhD or equivalent experience in a relevant field (Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Signal Processing, Robotics, Human‑Computer Interaction, Biomedical Engineering). Proven track record of leading design and deployment end‑to‑end systems for consumer‑facing hardware demonstrated through complex projects involving hardware sensors, signal processing, machine learning for real‑world data, and edge/cloud computation. Experience building scalable data pipelines, model training, and deployment frameworks for wearables or mobile devices. Experience with large‑scale model training, transfer learning, and data‑efficient ML. Experience building and maintaining SDKs or developer platforms for ML/data‑driven products.
